Charlotte Mason once stated, "It is inexcusable to live in a world so full of the marvels of plant and animal life and to care for none of these things." Mason understood the power hidden in the gentle rustle of leaves, the purr of a cat, or the song of the cricket. She observed these intimacies between child and creation — as one places a child in the nest of nature, she is cradled and tended to. In His wisdom, our Father presented to us a world full of glorious and wonderful mysteries meant for our good and His glory; a world intended to nurture our souls. Guiding our children towards these marvels not only restores relations but instills reverence and loyalty for God's good works and order.

Gardens Nook preschool is a joyful and pleasant space. As warm sun rays reach deep into the class, little bodies relax, smiles appear, and stories trickle forth. Just this week, our sweet grade R children couldn't wait to share their findings after examining celery - yes celery! "It taste delicious, but a little peppery" was one comment, followed by "I could eat this all day". Lunchboxes were opened and celery became a delicacy enjoyed by all.
Our grade 1 children have been working well on the skill of embroidery. However, mastering the straight stitch is easier said than done; particularly when little fingers are still strengthening. Yet, with perseverance, support, and guidance, each child has successfully begun embroidering their name and is making steady progress.

Studying our world and finding out how it works is essential to understanding our place in this vast picture. Three Peaks School seeks to bring children into close contact with their surrounding so that they may form rich relations. Whether it's paying detailed attention to the specific structure or patterns marking a particular shell, or becoming familiar with continents and countries, coming to know is key.
Our grade 6&7 boys have been studying soil erosion in science. After conducting an experiment to test the effectiveness of vegetation in the prevention of erosion, they came to a reasonable conclusion stated below. Finding solutions to real earth problems is one way we can instil guardianship over our planet within the hearts of our children .

Grandparents & special persons day
|
We will be celebrating our grandparents & elderly special persons on Monday, 11 May. Recognising the important role that our elderly play in the lives of our children is worthy of celebration. We would love to spoil them with tea and treats, whilst they get to enjoy some recitations, songs, and work displays by our children.
To reserve attendance, please follow this link. Only two reservations are permitted per family.
If you are able to volunteer with set-up, serving on the morning, or tidying up afterwards, please give your name to Philippa at the school office.

Our second-hand uniform shop is open! In order to see what's available, please join the community group. Should anyone want to donate pre-loved and washed items, please deliver them to the office.

Coming weekly to the Lord, we commit the following to Him in prayer:
- wisdom in dealing with our children's weaknesses
- gentleness in handling difficult situations
- gratitude for all the provisions the Lord has freely given us
|
"An observant child should be put in the way of things worth observing."

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
