Promise-keepers

From both a biblical and educational perspective, the idea and practice of promise-keeping carries much moral weight in our relations with one another. When children make promises, they are learning that their words matter and should align with their actions. However, treating promises casually can weaken this understanding and undermine the power of a promise, while faithfulness in keeping them builds integrity and trustworthiness. Charlotte Mason also reminds us that parents play a crucial role in this key aspect of development: when modelling reliability and avoiding the overuse of “promise me,” we help children grow into people whose words are dependable and meaningful.

Stories from the week

During the morning in our Gardens Nook preschool, there is a growing sense of mastery over habits of kindness, thoughtfulness, and obedience. We see children open to ideas of discovery and eager to explore their capabilities. Just this week, a journey in search of ants introduced a wonderful stream of conversation and inquiry.

Froebel Gifts permit further discover, particularly on rainy days. Whether it's developing patterns according to form or colour, threading beads, rolling spheres, or shaping strings, our grade R children delighted in the task.

With the start of our new extra-mural schedule, we welcomed a wonderful group of children interested in chess. Chess offers the fusion of creativity, competition, and logic in the space of sixty four squares. Children took this challenge in their stride, eager to learn skill and climb in rank.

Three Peaks encourages and delights in beauty, whether it's the simplicity of a plant, or the excellence of a transcribed text. When visiting the grade 2's, the care towards creating works of beauty was vividly evident in act of transcribing texts with neatness and accuracy.

Prayer

This week, as we continue to express dependence on our Lord in prayer:

  • we gratefully acknowledge His goodness and provision
  • we trust for ongoing unity among our school family
  • we commit ourselves to His work in all that we do

Something to ponder...

"Authority is just and faithful in all matters of promise-keeping; it is also considerate."

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
